Frequently Asked Questions
How much does therapy cost?
I charge £50 for a 50 minute session for an individual. Initial assessments are conducted by phone, last up to 30 minutes and are free of charge.
I also work with couples and charge £75 for a 1 1/4 hour (75 minutes) session.
How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?
Finding the right therapist for you is very important. That's why I offer a free telephone assessment, to see if you feel comfortable working with me. It's also why the therapy I offer is open-ended and sessions, and their frequency, are driven by you.
Will I find therapy upsetting?
Sometimes therapy can be upsetting because it can bring past experiences to the fore - experiences we might try to suppress or forget. But often working through those experiences can be enriching, and help us to understand ourselves and our lives more fully. It can also be challenging and uncomfortable to explore our past experiences, and to examine why we responded and continue to respond in the way we do. Again, working through this discomfort can help us better understand ourselves and our lives.
As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I am here to help you manage the emotions therapy can generate.
